MLHD Healthy Ageing Program
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) provides affordable physical activity options for older people in our Council area. These low cost, physical activity programs provide opportunities to increase strength, balance and socialisation. MLHD currently support volunteers to deliver aqua exercise, tai chi, gentle exercise and dance classes in our community.

Stepping On Program

MLHD also runs the Stepping On Program in the Federation Council area, a seven-week group-based program designed for people who are living at home and have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling. It covers a range of issues, including falls and risk, strength and balance exercises, home hazards, safe footwear, vision and falls, safety in public places and community mobility. The program is delivered in weekly two-hour sessions for seven weeks.
