Subsidies and Waivers
Animal Welfare Transport Subsidy
A subsidy of up to 50% of eligible costs for the permanent transport of stock off a farm which is facing financial hardship and where livestock are at fat score 2 or below (dairy cattle 3 or below), to a maximum of $20,000 per financial year.

Drought Transport Subsidy
A transport subsidy of $20000 per eligible farm business per year equating to up to $30000 over 18 months from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2019. It covers the cost of freight up to a maximum of $5 per kilometre to a maximum eligible distance of 1500 kilometres.

Farm Business Skills Professional Development Program
A subsidy of up to 50% of eligible costs for an approved course or activity, with a maximum reimbursement of $5000 per farmer and $9000 per farm business on completion of the course.

Transport of Donated Fodder Subsidy
The NSW Government is offering subsidy for 100% of the cost of transporting donated fodder to drought affected properties within NSW where the donated fodder is organised by community groups or other organisations for the benefit of multiple primary producers. Up to a maximum of $5 per kilometre within 1500km.

Waiver of NSW Local Land Service Rates
All Local Land Service rates, including General Rates and Rates for Animal Health & Pests, the Meat Industry Levy, and the costs of Routine Stock Moving Permit and Stock Identification will be waivered in 2019.

Waiver of Class 1 Agricultural Vehicle Registration
Class 1 Agricultural Vehicles will be exempt from the next annual registration charge.

Waiver of Farm Innovation Fund interest charges
All existing Farm Innovation Fund customers and all applicants who submitted an application on or before 30 July 2018, will have applicable interest charges for the 2017/2018 financial year and the 2018/2019 financial year refunded and waivered.

Skills training for drought affected farmers and businesses
The NSW Government is subsidising skills training for farmers and regional businesses impacted by the drought and looking to transition into new or updated career opportunities.
Access to this funding aims to provide support to farmers and businesses to manage the impact of drought.
Training may be fully subsidised under the NSW Government's Smart and Skilled Program.
