Volunteer Recognition Awards & Celebration

Federation Council values the contribution that volunteers make to the Council and to the broader community.

Volunteers play a fundamental role in supporting council in a number of areas including libraries, events, tourism, and community development. They bring a range of skills, experiences, fresh perspectives and ideas.

Federation Council has a vibrant culture of volunteering and communities are stronger due to the inclusiveness volunteering promotes. Volunteers assist in the delivery of community services with many sporting clubs, groups and organisations depending on volunteers to continue to deliver the services and facilities that make our Council area a great place to live.

Volunteer Recognition Awards and Celebration is an opportunity for Federation Council to recognise and thank the significant role volunteers play in the community.

Residents can nominate individuals who show compassion, commitment and hard work or a whole group or organisation who offer their time and skills to help others.

Nominations open between May-June each year, with a celebration event held in July.
