The CREW (Capable, Ready and Engaged for Work) project is an initiative designed to provide support to young people entering the workforce.
The work readiness program is a partnership between Federation Council, the Department of Employment, Department of Education, MICEEP, Corowa High School and the Corowa Business Chamber.
High School students participating in the program complete a series of training sessions over a four week period. The sessions cover a range of topics with the aim of providing valuable information, advice and support to prepare the participants for the workplace and enhance their employability.
After completing the weekly sessions and mock interview, participants are then placed in part-time employment with a local employer to provide them with valuable, hands on experience in a paid role.
To date, the CREW project has been a very successful program for young people in Federation Council.
