Provision of Expenses & Facilities for the Mayor & Councillors Policy

Council endorsed the Draft Provision of Expenses and Facilities for the Mayor and Councillors Policy in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 at the council meeting held on Tuesday 17 July.

Council will consult with the community giving a period of 28 days for submissions to be received on the Draft Policy. 

The Provision of Expenses and Facilities for the Mayor and Councillors Policy sets out the entitlements of Councillors to Council facilities, fees and reimbursement of expenses. Section 252(1) of the Local Government Act 1993 requires that within the first 12 months of each term of a Council, the Council must adopt a Policy concerning the payment of expenses incurred or to be incurred by, and the provision of facilities to, the Mayor, and Councillors in relation to discharging the functions of civic office. 

The draft policy will be on public exhibition for a period of 28 days and is available for downloading from this page, at any Council office between 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, or by calling 02 6033 8999. 

Anyone interested in providing feedback on the draft policy should do so in writing, addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 77, Corowa NSW 2646 or email to council@federationcouncil.nsw.gov.au, or alternatively submit in person at one of the Council offices.

Submission will be received until 5pm, Wednesday 15 August 2018.
