Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Council meetings

Due to COVID-19 restrictions regarding gatherings and the need to comply with social distancing measures, Advice from the NSW Office of Local Government is that changes have been made to the Local Government Act to allow Council meetings to continue by audio-visual link and they should continue to be accessible to the public.

To help ensure we slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) within our workforce and the community we have made the following changes to Council meetings until further notice:

Public gallery

From the Council Meeting on 21 April 2020: The public gallery will be closed.

Making a general submission

To request to make a submission at a Council Meeting regarding an item that is not listed under ‘Business Papers’ on the agenda, please complete the form here(PDF, 643KB) and return to Council for consideration by post PO Box 77 Corowa NSW 2646 or email council@federationcouncil.nsw.gov.au

The speakers name and topic of submission to be made at a particular Council Meeting, must be listed on the Agenda for that meeting to be heard.

Presenting your submission to Council

Any General Submissions to Council must be provided in writing on the required form here(PDF, 643KB) and be received by 5pm, 7 days (calendar) before the meeting.

Speaking to a business item on the agenda

Anyone wishing to speak to an item of business listed on the Council Agenda, should complete the form here(PDF, 643KB) to formally submit their intention to speak by 12 noon on the day before the meeting.

Submissions are an opportunity to present a view to Councillors and are not a forum for questions or debate.
