Rand Community Playground
The Rand Sports Ground Committee and Town Improvement Committee applied for funding through round one of the Stronger Communities program for a new playground at the Recreation Reserve.
The application was successful and $50,000 was allocated to the project, in addition to community-raised funds of $8,000.
The new playground supports a vibrant and welcoming community space where local families and visitors can come together and enjoy recreational activities. It compliments other improvements being undertaken at the Recreation Reserve to ensure that residents have access to quality community infrastructure.
The committee has worked closely with Council to finalise the design of the playground, which caters for a range of age groups. Some of the existing equipment at the reserve was relocated to become part of the new play space, located near the public toilets.
The final playground design can be viewed here(PDF, 3MB).
Construction of the playground at the Rand Recreation Reserve is now complete and we are pleased to advise the site has been re-opened to the public.
