Nominations for the 2022 Federation Council Australia Day Awards are now open.

You are invited to nominate a member of the local community whose exemplary contribution is deserving of recognition. This could be a friend, family member, workmate or someone you know who serves the community.

The Federation Council’s Australia Day Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievers and community organisations that contribute to making Federation Council a great place to live. The awards honour citizens of the Federation Council who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.

The Local Achiever Awards

Do you know a true blue Aussie that is always there to give a hand in your town or village, an outstanding volunteer or someone that’s attitude embodies the qualities of Australian-ness!

The Community Group of the Year Award

The Community Group of the Year celebrates a community group or organisation that in the last year has been inspirational and bringing the community together during the pandemic and beyond.

Have they found ways to connect to the community, amend their delivery programs to work within restriction, or introducing products to the community that were suited to the times of covid-19. They may have even hosted an event, project or program in an innovative or diverse way, maintained their memberships or delivered their programs during covid-19.

Schools within the Federation Council area are invited to nominate two students who have been outstanding achievers in 2020 in either academia, community or sports.

Award recipients will be announced at the official Australia Day Ceremony and Community Celebration on Wednesday 26 January 2022 in Corowa, at the Bangerang Park.
