Council to undertake Community Satisfaction Survey

From Monday 10 August, Federation Council will  undertake a new independent quantitative Community Satisfaction Survey project. The research objective is to determine the community’s satisfaction, as well as the importance of Council’s performance across service areas and facilities to provide Council with guidance on the future needs of the community. 

Federation Council Mayor Pat Bourke said Council was looking forward with anticipation to receiving the results of the survey once completed.

“Council is looking forward to undertaking a reviewing of the survey’s usability and implement appropriate actions to assist us to implement results driven strategies in the future,” Mayor Bourke said.

“The research outcomes will also inform Council’s progress in achieving its measures and feed into Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) Framework. It will also provide benchmarks with other similar LGAs and act as a reference point for the progressive initiative that will shape Federation’s future.”

The telephone survey and online survey will be conducted by IRIS Research on behalf of Federation Council.

As a minimum, performance measures assessed by the Community Satisfaction Survey include:

  • Overall performance;
  • Community consultation and engagement;
  • Lobbying on behalf of the community;
  • Decisions made in the best interests of the community;  
  • Condition of sealed local roads in your area;
  • Contact customer service; and  
  • Overall Council direction.

The results of the Community Satisfaction Survey will be used by Council to better understand the communities needs in relation to its services.

All respondents will be 18 years of age or older and will have lived in the LGA for the previous six months at the time of data collection. Employees of Federation Council will be screened out before starting the survey. Survey data collection will occur from Monday 10 August 10 to Friday 21 August.
