Light Up Federation set to return!

This Christmas season, Federation Council and the community will work together to ‘Light Up Federation’. 

Residents and business owners are invited to decorate their homes or businesses to Light Up Federation and show their community Christmas spirit through lights and decorations for everyone to enjoy. 

This year the Light Up Federation will feature three categories that residents and business owners can enter: 

  • BEST DECORATED HOUSE 
  • BEST DECORATED STREET
  • BEST DECORATED BUSINESS

So you can arrange to drive by the decorations and cast your vote, a flyer of all registered homes and businesses will be available from all Council offices and libraries, as well as in download form from Council's website from Monday 17 December.

To register, simply download the form from this page or complete a hard copy at any Council office. Entries close 5pm Friday 14 December 2018.

VOTING AND PRIZES

Registered homes will be in the running to win $800 cash for the ‘Best House’ category. One best house will be selected only.

The title of ‘Best Street’ is also up for grabs with the winning street in each town which has registered homes, to have a sign placed below their existing street sign to recognise their success. The ‘Best Business’ will receive $200 cash and a decal with their winning title to display.

Residents can vote for their favourite display by completing a voting form available at any council office, vote via council’s Facebook page by choosing your favourite house on the voting poll or online.

Voting closes Tuesday 1 January 2019 with the winner to be announced via council’s Facebook page and Snippets in the Howlong Grapevine, Urana District Newsletter, Corowa Free Press and Yarrawonga Chronicle. 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Businesses and homes must be located within the Federation Council area to be eligible to enter and win.

Voters do not have to be residents or ratepayers within the Federation Council area. 

Once votes have been tallied, results are final. 

Voters are able to vote once in each category.
