On their Way – 2019 Miki City Student Exchange Program

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke, General Manager Adrian Butler along with 6 students and 3 chaperones have embarked on the exciting 2019 Miki City Student Exchange program visiting Japan from Sunday 29 September to Tuesday 8 October 2019.

Federation Council has a sister city relationship with Miki City which provides students with the opportunity to visit Japan for a 10 day local homestay.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said, each year students either, visit or local families in the Federation Council area host delegates from Japan which ensures the continuation of the strong relationship and provides us all with the chance to establish new friendships.

“The students and chaperones are looking forward to learning about Japanese culture, spending time with host families and getting to share these experiences with friends and family back home.”

“The itinerary for the visit is full of exciting experiences including a hardware factory tour, visiting Kyoto and Yokawa area and wearing of a Kimono plus lots more!”
