Swimming Pools Closed today

Published on 07 January 2020

Due to poor air quality as a result of bushfires throughout the region, Federation Council has decided to close its public swimming pools located at Howlong, Urana and Oaklands today, Tuesday 7 January.

The health and wellbeing of our staff and community is paramount and we have a duty of care to ensure that the health of any person is not put at risk.

As the pools are closed today, the NSW Swim & Survive Program coordinated by Royal Life Saving NSW is cancelled for today. Families and teachers will be contacted directly by Royal Life Saving NSW.

The air quality will be reviewed Tuesday morning and update provided then as to whether the pools will be opening.
