Federation Council has several initiatives aimed at reducing the impact of waste on the environment and to support the community to recycle.

Halve Waste is an initiative of Albury City Council, City of Wodonga, Federation Council and the Shires of Towong, Greater Hume, Alpine and Indigo. Find more information below about this initiative and others, as well as waste management facilities, where to dispose of different types of waste and bin collection times in your area. 

Waste Facilities

Federation Council provides waste facility services throughout the Council local government area.

Community Recycling Centres

Federation Council and the NSW EPA have opened two Community Recycling Centres (CRC’s) in Corowa and Urana.

Bin Collection

Drum Muster

DrumMUSTER is a National program that has been set up for the collection and recycling of cleaned eligible non returnable crop production and on-farm animal health chemical containers and provides chemical users with a defined route to safely dispose of used chemical containers.

Halve Waste

Federation Council is a partner in the Halve Waste Program with other local Councils.

Illegal Dumping

If you are aware of illegal dumping of rubbish, please notify Council.

Asbestos management

Authorities have advised that changes have occurred with regard to the declaration of asbestos waste material.
