Drought Information
Drought is an enduring feature of the Australian landscape, and its management will become increasingly challenging as our climate continues to change. Here in the Federation Council region, we are committed to proactively addressing these challenges and strengthening our communities against the impacts of future droughts.
Federation Council is proud to be part of a united and collaborative effort with our neighbouring councils – Murray River Council, Edward River Council, and Berrigan Shire Council – to build drought resilience across our region. This partnership recognizes that a coordinated approach is essential to effectively prepare for and respond to drought conditions.
We are pleased to announce that the collaborative Drought Resilience Plan for our region is now available. This comprehensive plan has been developed through extensive cooperation and aims to bolster the resilience of our communities against future drought challenges. It outlines key strategies, initiatives, and actions designed to support our residents, businesses, and environment through periods of drought.
