Federation Council's Sister City Relationship with Miki City in Japan continues to be a great success and has lasted some 25 years.

The program allows High School students from the Federation Council area the opportunity to visit Japan as part of a hosted exchange program every two years. Students from Miki in Japan also visit Australia and stay with local host families.

This program allows students to experience another culture which is an experience that cannot be underestimated in today's global community.

Miki City Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Miki City Advisory Committee is to provide Federation Council with strategic advice and support on ways and means to enhance the sister city relationship between Miki City and the Federation Council.

25 Year celebrations

The development of a documentary film capturing the 25 year sister city relationship between Federation Council and Miki City, is currently underway.

2023 Student Exchange - seeking host families

The next sister city exchange is anticipated to be held in August 2023, with students and chaperones from Miki City travelling to the Federation Council.

2022 Mayors Greeting

A Greeting between Miki City's Mayor, Yoshihide Yabumoto and Federation Council's Mayor, Pat Bourke, was held on the 9th May 2022.
