Volunteer Week

Each year in May, Council celebrates the valuable contribution volunteers make to the community.

National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognise the role volunteers play in the delivery of council and community services. A number of events, activities and projects would not be possible the dedication and enthusiasm of volunteers.

Volunteers enthusiastically give their time, energy and expertise to help out, support and make a difference in our community. They share their skills, abilities and experience and bring a fresh perspective and new ideas on how we can do things.

As part of Volunteer Week in May, Federation Council celebrates the valuable contribution that volunteers make to the community with the opening of the Federation Council Volunteer Recognition Celebration Nomination(PDF, 259KB).

The Volunteer Recognition Awards is an annual celebration where local clubs, organisations, groups or individuals can nominate their volunteers to receive a recognition award and attend a ‘thank you’ event to be held in July.

Council is asking residents to consider who they would like to thank for their contribution to the community by completing the online nomination form at the bottom of this page or by downloading the nomination form(PDF, 259KB).

Nominations are open until 5pm Friday 22 June 2018.
