Federation Council conducts a Road Safety Program comprising regular education and behaviour change projects that are undertaken in response to community feedback and analysis of local crash data.
These projects aim to reduce the likelihood of deaths and injuries from road trauma.
Council in conjunction with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) are committed to working with local government, the community and stakeholders to deliver the practical road safety initiatives identified in the NSW Road Safety Strategy 2012-21.
The Strategy is underpinned by the Safe System approach to improving road safety.
This approach takes a holistic view of the road transport system and the interactions among the key components of that system –
the road user.

Council employs a Road Safety Officer (RSO) who is responsible for implementing the road safety program by working closely with key stakeholders including NSW Police and RMS throughout the Council area.
