Federation Youth Council

The Federation Youth Council is made up of a group of passionate young people aged between 12 and 25 years old who act as the voice for young people within the Federation Council Local Government Area, advocating for the needs, wants and concerns of young people living, studying and working in our area.

It is an advisory committee of Federation Council and provides a platform for young people to voice their perspectives and contribute to Council decision-making processes on issues that affect them and other young people in our community. 

The Federation Youth Council meet once a month, engaging with guest speakers from within council and external organisations and also manage their own self-guided community projects, events and activities.

Essential Criteria

To be eligible to join the Federation Youth Council, must:

  • Be aged between 12 and 25 years old.
  • Live, work, study or connect to the Federation Council area. 
  • Agree to the Federation Youth Council Terms of Reference

 All applicants over the age of 18 or who are turning 18 must be willing to obtain a volunteer Working with Children Check.
