The following activities were undertaken during April 2025 by Federation Council’s Operations Works teams.
Table Drain Maintenance
This month a focus was clearing table drains on rural roads. Also, customer requests when needed.
Sealed Roads
Numerous customer requests for pothole repairs on sealed urban and rural roads have been received and actioned with the Corowa based Flo-con patching truck and the Urana based Jet Master patching truck. In particular, numerous pothole repairs on sealed urban and rural roads have been actioned with the Corowa based Flo-con patching truck and the Urana based Jet Master patching truck.
Redlands Road, Humden Road, Merton Road, Bullplain Road, Savernake Road, Boatrock Roads and townships.
Slashing – Sealed Roads Shoulders
Slashing in Fed Way South then moving to Byrnedale Road in Rand.
Quarries
Balldale – Carting Gravel for various Projects listed in the Grader Gangs section.
Davies Hill – No Carting Gravel from this area. Trucks needed for carting spoil from drainage projects.
Maintenance Crew/Sundry Crew
Flood sign & depth marker installation.
Culvert cleaning/repairs.
Footpath maintenance/repairs.
Sign replacements/repairs.
Various guide Post replacements.
Working with construction crews when required.
Attending to customer requests.
Sapling Removal Program from Rural Drains
Works completed in:

• Bull Plain Road
• Boat Rock Road
• Balldale/Coreen Road
• Izons Road
• Oil Tree Lagoon Road
• Howlong/Balldale Road
• Balldale Road
• Rennie Road
• Daysdale/Walbundrie Road
• Bull Plain (part of only - from Rennie Rd to Emu Park Road)
• Major sections of Oaklands Road (ongoing).
These critical works ensure that Council’s drainage network is not impeded in the future by large trees.
Heavy Trucks
Carting spoil from Bullecourt Road Works.
Carting gravel for customer requests.
Carting stone for patching trucks, Flocon and Jetmaster.
Carting excess spoil from Nixon Street to Corowa Landfill for cover & capping.
Urana Truck was used carting Gravel from the Urana Screen Pit for shoulder maintenance.
Carting stones for patching truck from Yabba Quarry to Urana Depot.
Major Drain Maintenance – Enfield and Nixon Street Open Drain Maintenance
Removal of stored spoil (to dry) was undertaken and carted to the Corowa Land-Fill for future capping material.
Resealing Program
Resealing of the second last stage of Yamma Road is planned to be completed at the end of April.
Line Marking Program
With the current fine weather, line marking is ongoing with works planned to be extended to the end of May including Sanger Street, Urana, Boree Creek and surrounding areas.
Heavy Patching
Heavy patching is planned on sections of Cocketgedong Road in May.
TfNSW – RMCC
Maintenance works under the RMCC agreement. With the current fine weather Herbicide application, pothole patching, Culvert/Headwalls maintenance and replacements will be extended to the end of May.
Corowa Aerodrome
Twice weekly inspections carried out to ensure compliance with the MOS 139. Repairs to lights as required. Slashing planned in late April or May on runway shoulders and to the wind indicators
