Capital Works Program Update - April 2022

Council has an ongoing program of capital works and upgrades to buildings, parks, playgrounds and roads across the Federation Council Region. The following activities were undertaken in April 2022 by Federation Council’s Works teams.

• FLR Program - Traffic Facilities Completed.
• Corowa – Mulwala Cycleway Gravel pavement completed from Drain lane to Kyffins Road.
• Sealing of pavement completed from Freyers Road to Kyffins Road.
• Rural Roads Slashing - Redlands Road, Corowa Aerodrome.
• Balldale Road Vegetation removal for road upgrade and widening to be undertaken in accordance with Section 88 of the NSW Roads Act.
• Daysdale Curves Southern approach seal completed (approx. 6,700m2 ). Daysdale Walbundrie road batters cut to level. Side track constructed at Coreen Creek culvert.
• Cullivel Road Reconstruction works on Cullivel road continuing.
• Regional Roads Heavy Patching Heavy Patches MR323 Berrigan Oaklands Road and Corowa Oaklands Road.
• Corowa Flood/Storm Event 30 January - Council has now been declared a disaster area for the above event.
• Riverina Highway – Wangamong Creek Side Road Transport for NSW engaged Federation Council to construct a side road for a traffic diversion to enable bridge widening and repairs.
• Spring Drive Segment 100 - in conjunction with Transport for NSW. Reseal 2.76km with 7mm stone, new Audible lane delineation, renew line marking centreline & edge lines.
• Maintenance Grading Program Roads graded in March. Stratherne Road, McKenzies Road, Lowdens Road, Long Paddock Road, Angle Road (Contractor) Erindale Road, Wells Road, Waverly Road.
• Tabledrain Maintenance Tabledrain Maintenance on sealed and unsealed roads in urban and rural areas.
• Sealed Roads Pothole repairs on sealed urban and rural roads with the Corowa based Flocon patching truck and the Urana based Jetmaster patching truck.
• Quarries Balldale – Crushing of 45,000 tonnes for Capital Works Program completed.
• Proposed Works - Completion of Corowa Aerodrome drainage upgrade. John Street drainage works.
