Essential Energy crews will work overnight to complete vital maintenance on the electricity network in the Corowa area on the weekend to minimise the disruption to the local community.

Operations Manager Murray, Ian Armstrong, said the work would be carried out in the early hours of Sunday, 18 October to strengthen the electricity network and secure a more reliable local power supply.

“To allow our crews to work safely on the network, a one-off power outage will be necessary to complete this maintenance of critical operating equipment,” Ian said.

“The power outage will affect customers in parts Corowa, Balldale, Brocklesby, Coreen, Daysdale, Hopefield, Howlong, Lowesdale, Oaklands and surrounds.”

Essential Energy has scheduled the power outage between Saturday 11.30pm and Sunday 5.30am, weather permitting, to reduce the impact of the improvement works on local businesses and the wider community.

All affected businesses and residents have been notified in advance.
