Participants and followers eagerly tuned in to the live draw of the 2017 Tourism Treasure Trail on Friday morning to watch six contestants crowned trail winners.

The Tourism Treasure Trail was an initiative of Federation Council designed to celebrate  the incredible region that is Federation Council.

Residents and visitors across the Council area trekked their way around the Federation region, visiting many of the tourism hot spots that featured on the trail map, which resulted in a record breaking 228 entry submissions.

Federation Council Administrator Mike Eden said the treasure trail initiative provided a great opportunity to showcase some of the great things to see and do in the Federation region.

“The trail encouraged locals and visitors to get out and about this winter, support local business and celebrate what the region has to offer,” Mr Eden said.

“It’s a fantastic initiative that was so well received by Council’s communities for the second year in row.”

Council would like to congratulate the following winners:

- Urana Aquatic Centre Stay and Ski Package*: 2 nights’ accommodation in a family cabin at the Urana Aquatic Centre, kayak and bike hire, food hamper and an activity pack: Tamara Nixon.

- A round for 2 at the Howlong Golf Resort*: 9 holes for 2 people with cart plus $100 restaurant voucher: Joe Brooks.
