The Federation Youth Council is hosting a fun filler photo competition encouraging ‘I Am Federation’ Facebook followers, to share the local treasures of their town by submitting photos that depict the community where they live within the theme Friends, Fun and the Great Outdoors.

The Federation Youth Council were unable to host their Youth Week Colour Run due to restrictions around public gatherings. With the funding from NSW Government, Federation Youth Councillors have now planned “Show us Your Federation photo competition".

Photographs could include a significant natural feature that promotes our Council area, local people, the wide open spaces, historic buildings, wild life, natural or man-made works of art, an activity within Federation that is fun for you – the options are endless

How it Works

1. People are to post their entry photo/s in the comments section of the ‘Show us Your Federation Competition’ announcement on the ‘I am Federation’ Facebook page.

2. Viewers can then ‘vote’ for the Viewer’s Choice Award by using the ‘love/ heart’ in the emoji bar on their favourite photo.

  • The photo/s must be taken within the Federation Council area and captures ‘friends, fun or the great outdoors.’
  • The Viewer’s Choice Award will be the photo with the most love/ hearts at the end of the competition.
  • The winner of the Viewer’s Choice award will win a pair of Apple AirPods.
  • The Panel’s Choice Award will be the photo selected by the judging panel.
  • The judging panel is made up of the 2020 Federation Youth Councillors & Federation Council staff.
  • The winner of the Panel’s Choice Award will win an Apple Watch s5, PLUS $100 for the use of their photo.
  • The winning photo will be featured in the ever so popular Federation Council’s Community Calendar for 2021.

The competition is open from 6pm AEST Friday 11 September. Entries close no later than 5pm AEST Friday 9 October 2020.
