Where to from here

Once the Public Exhibition period closes, all submissions received will be taken into account when finalizing the adopted flood risk management options.  The Floodplain Risk Management Committee will oversee the finalization of the Plan.

The Federation Villages Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan will then be submitted to Federation Council for adoption.

Once adopted, Council will proceed with the implementation of the Plan.  This will involve:

  • Application of flood based planning and development controls in Council’s day to day responsibilities.
  • Applying for State and Federal Government grant funding to assist with the implementation of the adopted measures.
  • Proceeding with design and construction once funding is secured.
