Capital Works Projects Update - February 2021

Council has an ongoing program of capital works and upgrades to buildings, parks, playgrounds and roads across the Federation Council Region.
The following activities were undertaken within the month of February 2021 by Federation Council’s Works teams;
- Fixing Local Roads (FLR) Program – Shoulder Rehabilitation - Grade shoulders on Merton Road, Bull Plain Road, Savernake Road and Sloan’s Siding Road.
- FLR Program, Heavy Patching - Izons Road, Balldale-Coreen Road, Oak Lodge Road, Savernake Road.
- FLR Program – Vegetation - Commence tree clearance work on Sloan’s Siding Road, McCurdie’s Road.
- Daysdale S Bends - Recommence earthworks for shoulders and batters on new section of Daysdale-Walbundrie Road.
- Corowa Pool Carpark Reconstruction – completion of gravel pavement, primer seal applied ready for asphalt first week of March.
- Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Grant - Victoria Street and Larmer Street intersection Mulwala, drainage upgrade and footpath realignment.
- LRCI Grant - Hume Street, Mulwala - commence drainage and kerb and gutter upgrade.
- Spring Drive MR314 and MR86 various segments re-sealing - RMS State Roads repair program.
- Rural roads re-seal program - Sections of Balldale-Coreen Road, Buraja Road, Rennie Road, Redlands Road.
- Urban Reseal Program – Howlong - Emily Court, Townsend Street, Kennedy Street, Hovell Street.
- Flocon Patching Truck: Preparation works for resealing program 20/21 of rural roads and residential street in Howlong as well as repairs.
- Assist construction crews on Capital Works Projects and shoulder grading with traffic control as required.
- FLR Program – vegetation traffic control.
- Urban and rural pothole patching as per Reflect.
- Sundry Gang: FLR Program Traffic Facilities – Regulatory speed sign replacement Corowa Township (other towns to follow), various Customer Requests and footpath repairs.
- Heavy Trucks - Support Grader Gangs & Construction Gangs on maintenance - hauling spoil, gravel, and sand.
- Continuation of work on Federation Way at Morundah.
