Federation Council is set to officially open the doors of its new $10.2 million dollar Corowa Aquatic Centre.

The regional significant facility features a 50m pool set within the picturesque Ball Park Precinct, a 25m indoor pool, indoor program pool, kids’ splashpark and café.

The official opening ceremony will be held on Monday April 19 at 10am. This opportunity will allow funding partners, and official guests to tour the facility before opening the doors to the public on Monday April 26 at 7am.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said Council was thrilled to deliver a new modern aquatic centre for the betterment of Council’s residents.

“Our new aquatic centre is not only beautiful and fun, it also features a full array of accessibility features, so it’s a place for everyone to enjoy,” he said.

“The Ball Park Precinct is one of the most astonishing assets we have in the Federation Region, and with the addition of the new Aquatic Centre, and other proposed works planned for the precinct in our recently adopted masterplan, this will add to ambience on offer and be drawcard for our region.”

Mayor Bourke said it is great to see the community and Council’s vision of creating a modern Aquatic Centre come to fruition.

“This aquatic centre will be an asset not just for the community today, but one that will meet our communities’ needs for the next 50 years,” he said.

“It is something that I know Council, our Swimming Pool Advisory Committee and all other stakeholders are very proud of and I look forward with anticipation to celebrating this special occasion. The support Council and our community has received from the NSW State Government in respect to this project is much appreciated. This project is a fine example of the success that can come from Local Government and State Government working together for the benefit of our communities.”

The Corowa Aquatic Centre features:

• a 50m outdoor Olympic pool;
• a 25m heated indoor pool and heated program pool to allow for aquatic programs and services to be provided all year round;
• a fun kids’ water splash park area with a shallow pool, slides, spraying devices and a tipping bucket; and
