Murray River Towns

Federation Council has prepared a Flood Study for the towns of Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala.

These studies represent a significant investment in understanding the complex nature of flooding from the Murray River and local catchment areas. By meticulously analysing historical flood data and employing advanced modelling techniques, we're better equipped to:

  • Minimise Flood Impacts: Plan and implement strategies that reduce the risk and consequences of flooding.
  • Support Informed Decision-Making: Ensure that future development and infrastructure consider flood hazards.
  • Promote Community Preparedness: Provide essential knowledge to help residents understand their flood risk and prepare effectively.

The October 2024 Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala Flood Study report can be downloaded below from this page.

Flood Studies are complex and technical projects. In response to community feedback expressing the complex and technical nature of the reports, Council developed a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) document to provide the community with answers to commonly asked questions. The FAQ document can be downloaded here. (PDF, 104KB)
